Valentine's Day: Fools Rush In
Hi everybody. This is the link to the Elvis hit we sang in class today should you fancy wooing anybody over the weekend. Check your dictionaries or Wikipedia to find out what the other half of the famous saying "fools rush in...." is.
Hi Tim, A song really beautiful. I have been looking for the other half of the saying on Wikipedia and Wordreference. The whole saying is "fools rush in where angels fear to tread" and it appears in one of the poems written by Alexander Pope. I think he refers to foolish people who give their opinions lightly about serious matters like love when wise men hesitate before say something. See you
Hi Alexis. That is the gist of the saying.I think it really means you should think twice before you commit yourself to something which is very serious.Glad you like the song.
